Across the nation, education experts have recognized that real-world connections get kids excited about science and science careers. The new Common Core State Standards—adopted by 45 states last year—align science education with the challenges of the workforce, and place new emphasis on career education and work-based learning.

No Illinois organization is better prepared than the iBIO Institute to connect Illinois classrooms with the “real world” of STEM. As teachers and districts develop new curricula to meet the Common Core State Standards, the iBIO Institute’s EDUCATE Center programs will bring cutting-edge science from Illinois’ life sciences companies to inspire student interest in science and science careers.
